Wood Apple Pickle/ Velagapandu Pachadi
Deep inside the forests of Srisailam and Maharashtra lies a wild fruit that is not known to many. This crop, which goes by the name Velagapandu in Telugu, is picked by special teams we hire.
Once it reaches our production center, we split open the fruit and it goes through an exquisite procedure by the end of which we have in our hands a pickle unlike any. We make it through the age-old method of mixing in mortar and pestle.
Ground with green and red chili along with a bit of jaggery and garnished with coriander, this dark honey-colored Wood Apple pickle is a flavorful variety that is a Jandhyala Original and is not commercially available elsewhere.
The tastebuds go through a lip-smacking pleasure when this is eaten with hot rice and ghee !!!
